BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Even before the coronavirus lockdown was announced the shooting of films and television serial was stopped. At that time, most of us knew that we would have to watch repeat telecast of the earlier episodes, but then we started watching reruns of our old, favourite serials. Zee Bangla brought back our favourite yesteryear serials like Ek Akasher Niche, Agnipariksha, Amar Durga, Deep Jwele Jai, Goyenda Ginni and Bhutu to name a few. It was a blast of nostalgia. And Ek Akasher Niche and Goyenda Ginni are giving good numbers to the channel again.
But now, in the challenging times, the channel authorities are taking the challenge head on as they are all set to announce two new shows amid the coronavirus lockdown. Yes, you read that right. And both the new shows — Priyo Tarokader Andarmahal and Nonstop Aboltabol — have been shot entirely at home by the actors. But that doesn’t mean there’s no less of fun. In fact, the fun is double.
In Priyo Tarokader Andarmahal, you can watch your favourite television actors be it Ditipriya Roy (Rani Rashmoni actor) and others and their lockdown lives. Now that we don’t have to go for shooting, what do they do all day? Of course, like you they also spend their day reading, cooking, spending time with family or cleaning the house. Added to it, the show will also bring the fun moments as they will also sing or dance and that too in a challenge with their colleague online. And mind you, here the actors are their directors, costume designers and make-up artistes too. Watch the programme at 6 pm onwards.
Nonstop Aboltabol at 10.30 pm is a show where Raja Krishna Chandra and Gopalbhar appear in their modern avatar to discuss and delve into present times as we remain under lockdown and listen to the news anchor. The comedy show stars Kanchan Mullick as Raja Krishna Chandra , Biswanath Basu as Gopalbhar and Sudiptaa Chakraborty as the news anchor . It consists of three sections — celebrity news, breaking news and Hirak Raja Gobeshok. The show is entirely a work from home production.
“Feel blessed to have started working (from home, of course) in this unprecedented lockdown !!!
Watch our Lockdown Special Comedy show #NonStopAbolTabol from (27th April, Monday) onwards….. Every night at 10.30 pm on @ZeeBanglaTv and Zee Bangla HD,” Sudiptaa tweeted.
Recently when Zee Bangla relaunched the iconic serials like Ek Akasher Niche, Agnipariksha, Goyenda Ginni and Bhutu, Samrat Ghosh, cluster head (East) Zee Entertainment had said, “We heard the consumer voice to bring back some of our milestone shows from 20 years in terms of both fiction and non-fiction. I am very hopeful that the cult shows will surely bring back strong nostalgic values and take viewers back in their good old days and enhance quality family time and help them sail through this difficult phase.”
