BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Dangal actor Zaira Wasim has taken an indirect potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, though the context belongs to a time before 2019 elections.
Her post on Twitter does not reveal names or any context, though there is not much doubt about what her post is about. She posted on Twitter, “The question should’ve been “Aapko raat ko sukoon ki neend kaise aajati hai”. NOT “Aap aam kaise khate hai” (The question should’ve been “How do you sleep peacefully at night,” not “How do you eat mangoes”).
The question should’ve been “Aapko raat ko sukoon ki neend kaise aajati hai”. NOT “Aap aam kaise khate hai”. 💔

This is the question that Akshay Kumar asked PM Modi during an interview he conducted before 2019 elections. More in the format of a conversation, Akshay took on lighter subjects like Modi’s childhood in Gujarat.
Then Akshay said that a lot of children want to ask him is that “Kya humaare pradhaan mantri ji aam khaatey hain?” (Does our PM eat mangoes?)
Zaira’s scathing, though late, reply has caught social media by fire with numerous netizens retweeting it. One user directly tagged Akshay and posted, “@akshaykumar Are you listening?”
In June 2019, Zaira had caused a furore in Bollywood when she announced her decision to step back from her acting career as it was interfering with her faith.
In February, Zaira Wasim, who was last seen in The Sky Is Pink, took to Instagram to share a long post about the conditions of her hometown Kashmir and how “Kashmir continues to suffer and see-saw between hope and frustration.”
