BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Finally, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has broken his silence five months after the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He also said that his son Aaditya Thackeray and “sons of Maharashtra” are being targeted. He even took a dig at actor Kangana Ranaut without naming her.
“Someone who committed suicide is now a Bihar son. He may be, but because of him, you maligned sons of Maharashtra. You even maligned my son Aaditya. So whatever you said, keep it yourself. We are clean,” said the CM while speaking at the Shiv Sena’s annual Dussehra rally.
Uddhav Thackeray said people come to Mumbai to earn livelihood but then call it Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Though he meant it was Kangana, who compared Mumbai to PoK, he did not name her. “People who have no means of livelihood in their home come to Mumbai and betray it. Calling Mumbai as PoK is in fact the failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had said he would get back PoK into India,” Thackeray said.
The Maharashtra chief minister also praised the Mumbai Police, who has been constantly under scanner for its role in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
“I’m proud of my Mumbai Police. The police who caught a terrorist alive – the only police. I’m proud of the police,” he said drawing reference to the capture and trial of 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
