BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Yamaha India has started its pre-launch marketing campaigning for the FZ25 BS VI model. In fact, select dealerships around the country have been authorised to accept pre-orders for the BS VI FZ25 bike.
Depending on dealer, the pre-booking amount for the BS VI FZ25 varies from Rs 3,000–Rs 10,000. Delivers of the updated model will commence by the end of March or early April
As with most motorcycle makers, there’s a hike in the price and compared to its BS IV version, the BS VI is likely to command around Rs 3,000 – Rs 4,000 extra.
Both upgraded variants — FZ25 and FZS 25 were unveiled early in February. The bikes receive cosmetic refreshing and new colour schemes along with the updated engine.
The FZ25 and FZS 25 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The fuel injected motor is around 0.1bhp more powerful and 0.1Nm less torqueier than its BS4 carburetted version. The engine produces 20.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
Due to its emission controlling equipment, the incoming FZ25 BS6 is 1kg and its kerb weight stands at 153kg. Platform, suspension and braking set-up remain untouched.
Styling changes include new LED headlamp and taillamp and headlamp and engine cowl design has also been revised. Side stand engine cut-off function and a new negative LCD multifunction instrument cluster is also offered. Two colour schemes – Racing Blue and Metallic Black will be available from the beginning of sales.
The sportier FZS 25 will be offered in dual-tone Dark Cyan (with golden alloys), Dark Matte Blue (with golden alloys) and Metallic White shades. This variant is planned for later release in the year.
Final prices haven’t been announced yet. In 2019, the BS IV FZ25 sold for Rs 1.37L (ex-showroom Delhi).
