BH CORRESPONDENT, Bangalore: After Amulya, the woman who raised pro-pak slogan, was charged with sedition, her father critcised her and said “she is wrong”.
In an interview to India Today, Amulya’s father said, “This is absolutely wrong. I will not tolerate what she said. I have many times told her not to get involved with Muslims, but she did not listen. I have told her many times not to make provocative statements, but she did not listen.”
Amulya was trending on social media and became the hot topic for prime time news debates on Thursday evening after she raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan at Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi rally against Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA, has been charged with sedition. She has been taken into custody for 14 days with a judicial magistrate denying her bail.
The father of a young woman, charged with sedition after she said “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan at a protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA in Bengaluru on Thursday, has criticized her. “What she said is wrong,” he said soon after the anti-CAA event.
The woman, Amulya, hails from Bangalore. She took the microphone and started raising “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan and asked people to join her. Soon Owaisi rushed towards her and tried to snatch the microphone from her. But she was not giving up the microphone and then started chanting “Hindustan Zindabad”.
Later the police intervened and removed her from the dais. Later, Owaisi addressed the rally saying he doesn’t support her at all. Soon after the video got viral, netizens flooded the social media with hate speech and memes as well.
