BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: A 44-year-old woman, resident of Kalimpong in West Bengal, who was admitted to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital on Friday and tested coronavirus positive died in the wee hours of Monday.
With this, the number of people from West Bengal who died after being infected by coronavirus climbed to two. Earlier, a 57-year-old Dum Dum resident died on March 22 in Kolkata. The figure of coronavirus positive persons in the state stands at 22 persons.
The Kalimpong woman had gone to Chennai for her daughter’s treatment. She initially saw a doctor at a private nursing home in Kalimpong on March 20, a day after she flew into the state from Chennai with her daughter.
The state health officials are now trying to trace the persons who came in touch with the woman.
