BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Biopics seem to be in season now. And sports biopics are more rewarding, especially when it is cricket as this is India. After MS Dhoni’s biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story starring Sushant Singh Rajput, another Indian cricket team captain’s life and career will be shown on screen. That is none other than Bengal’s beloved Dada – Sourav Ganguly.
Karan Johar is preparing to make a biopic on Sourav, the current president the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), reports Mumbai Mirror. The director and former cricketer have already sat for several meetings regarding this and are searching for the lead actor.
Rumours suggest that it might be Bollywood’s heartthrob Hrithik Roshan. After his sensational portrayal of mathematician Anand Kumar in Super 30, this will be undoubtedly be quite different and challenging.
However, earlier it was said that Ekta Kapoor might be making Sourav’s biopic. When asked about this, Sourav had replied, “Is it, Ekta Kapoor? Then yes, she approached me and we talked about it once. Nothing went further than that. I have never thought of a biopic [on me] though there are a host of sports biopics being made. If there is time, then someone will make one on me. Hope people would be interested in seeing the film.”
