BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Volkswagen expands its SUV/CUV line-up with two fresh models – T-Roc and All-Space.
According to the German brand, the design of the T-Roc faithfully follows the new design DNA which has been used in various models globally ranging from the Tiguan, the Tiguan Allspace (version with longer wheelbase) and the larger 7/8-seater Atlas/Teramont SUVs.
Volkswagen showcased the T-Roc at the 2020 Auto Expo and the CUV has also been listed on Volkswagen India’s website.
Apart from the design, the T-Roc brings authentic off-road elements into harmony with dynamism and urban style.
The T-Prime Concept GTE which was presented in 2016 gave a glimpse of the SUV with this design DNA.
Volkswagen says that the car will be offered with generous equipment with standard features like LED headlamps/tail lamps, front and rear parking sensors, digital instrument cluster, dual-zone auto AC, 8-inch touchscreen and panoramic sunroof.
The car will be powered by a 150 PS and 250 Nm 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with a 7-speed DSG.
Safety features will include SUV six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Start Assist, TPMS and a reverse camera.
Along with the T-Roc, Volkswagen will also offer the Tiguan Allspace soon. Tiguan Allpsace comes with 226 mm extended wheelbase, while the width and height are similar. The India-spec Allspace will come in a 7-seater configuration. The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace will be offered with a 190 PS and 350 Nm 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine.
The T-Roc will be imported via the CBU route for now and dealers are accepting bookings for a sum of Rs 25,000.
