BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Vijay Devarakonda had become the heartthrob of the nation, courtesy his Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Well, the critics and feminists might have had problem with the film, but then some fan girls can’t stop going gaga over this angry, young man. In fact, he repeated his angry avatar yet again in Dear Comrade.
When Arjun Reddy was remade in Bollywood as Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor had to bear the constant comparison with Devarakonda.
And when in January Bollywood’s favourite producer Karan Johar shared a snap on his Twitter annount that Devarakonda has started shooting for a film with director Puri Jagannadh, we knew something big was coming up. In that mahurat shot, Devarakonda was standing between Puri and producer Charmme Kaur. It was the big Bollywood debut of Devarakonda and we were eager to know who would be that lucky actress to romance him in the film. The movie will have a pan-India release.
On Thursday, the director took to Twitter to announce that Ananya Panday will star opposite Devarakonda in the yet-to-be-titled film, which will be shot in Hindi and all South Indian languages. The film will be produced by KJo, Jagannadh, Kaur, and Apoorva Mehta.

Reportedly, an action film, Devarakonda is undergoing training for Mixed Martial Arts to get into the skin of the character. The film also stars Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan.
“Happy to Welcome on board Gorgeous @ananyapandayy for our Pan India venture with my hero @TheDeverakonda produced by @karanjohar @Charmmeofficial @apoorvamehta18 Having fun directing this cool venture @DharmaMovies @PuriConnects #PCfilm #AnanyaPandayVijayDeverakonda,” tweeted Jagannadh, who will be directing his 10th film.
KJo also welcomed Ananya, who made her Bollywood debut with his production Student of the Year 2.
Recently, Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya was badly trolled for winning the Filmfare Best Debut award for Student of the Year 2. Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel did not agree with Ananya bagging the award and thought Ankita Lokhande, who made her big screen debut in Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi should have won it.
Meanwhile, Ananya has a busy 2020 as she is all set to be seen in Khaali Peeli alongside Ishaan Khatter and Shakun Batra’s next where she will be seen sharing the screen alongside Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
