AGENCIES, Los Angeles: Actor Tom Hanks and his musician wife Rita Wilson have completely recovered from the novel coronavirus which they had contracted while they were in Australia for pre-production for a film on rock n’ roll star Elvis Presley.
Post recovery, the 63-year-old actor revealed the experiences of fighting the virus on the The National Defense Radio Show. Hanks confessed that his wife suffered more than him. “Rita went through a tougher time than I did, she had a much higher fever. She had lost her sense of taste and sense of smell. She got absolutely no joy from food for a better part of three weeks,” he said, reports Variety.
He described the severity of her condition as well. “She was so nauseous, she had to crawl on the floor from the bed to the facilities. It lasted a while,” he said, adding that he had to face body aches and extreme fatigue.
“Looking back, I also realised that I was losing my sense of taste and smell, which I didn’t realise at the time,” said Wilson, while adding that she had exceptionally high temperatures. She was administered chloroquine which also resulted in extreme side effects.
