BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress councillor of ward No 34 is alleged to have vandalised a private clinic at Beliaghata on Friday afternoon. The clinic authorities have lodged a complaint with the police station. But the councillor in question, Alokananda Das, has refused all allegations against her. She has also rubbished the allegations labelled against her regarding money.
It has been alleged that she and her team had demanded a ransom from the clinic. They vandalised the clinic since their demands were not met, said one of the clinic officials. The front glass of the clinic was crushed. The clinic officials complained that the councillor of ward 34 of Kolkata municipality is involved. Even the CCTV footage of the clinic shows that the councillor Alokananda Das is breaking the glass of the clinic. A complaint has been filed with the police.
The clinic officials have also submitted the CCTV footage with the police while lodging the formal complaint at Beliaghata police station. “There were many things which were lying outside the clinic. The glass might have been broken while shifting those things inside,” said Das. She is the daughter of Alok Das, a TMC leader from Beliaghata.
A clinic worker, who did not want to be named, however, said that the councillor had asked for money from the clinic. However, when asked by the media, Das refuted all allegations. She said, “Despite repeated requests, the clinic authorities kept their belongings on public property. A number of tiles were lying on the KMC property. So, we went to put those things inside the clinic. That might have broken the glass. But the entire incident has nothing to do with money,” said Das.
