BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: While the country faces grave danger due to the deadly coronavirus which has been wreaking havoc and forcing the government to order a lockdown, the silver lining resides in reduction in pollution.
The absence of cars and people on the roads have led to skies being clear, more animals and birds coming to the fore and nature reclaiming its lost spaces. A direct benefit of clear skies is that stars are now visible, which earlier weren’t due to high levels of air pollution.
Kai Po Che actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a star gazing enthusiast, did not fail to cash in on this opportunity. Using a telescope, he identified the planets Jupiter, Saturn and Mars in the sky and posted a picture of that on his Instagram account. He captioned it, “Jupiter, Saturn & Mars (top down), mirroring the Orion & so intimately hugging each other in the moonlit sky”.
Some of his fans had interesting things to say about this. Some appreciated Sushant’s endeavour while others commented that the planets are not hugging but practising social distancing.
Previously, Sushant had posted about what he had spotted with his telescope. He wrote, “I saw birds and serpents, angels and demons, swiftly moving hurricanes & a wonderfully chaotic butterfly. Those numerous symbols of being and then, some similar ways of seeing…#selfmusing”.
