South superstars come together to help fight coronavirus crisis

Several actors donated hefty amounts for relief efforts

BH CORRESPONDENT, Hyderabad: To help fight the coronavirus crisis that his gripped our nation at the moment, quite a few film superstars in the South, including Prabhas, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi Konidela and Mahesh Babu, have made hefty donations.

Baahubali actor Prabhas donated a total amount of Rs. 4 crore for relief efforts – Rs. 3 crore went to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, while Rs. 50 lakh each went to Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.

Mahesh Babu and Chiranjeevi each have pledged Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Andhra Pradesh and Telengana. The latter mentioned that the crisis affects daily wagers and lower income workers in the film, including the Telugu Film Industry.

The lockdown situation while mandatory to deal with the #CoronaCrisis,also adversely impacts the lives of daily wage workers & lower income groups in the country including the #TeluguFilmIndustry.Keeping this in mind I am donating Rs.1 Cr for providing relief to the Film workers.

Allu Arjun went over them to donate Rs. 1.25 crore to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Kerala. Ram Charan donated Rs. 70 lakh, while Pawan Kalyan will donate Rs. 1 crore to the centre while giving Rs. 50 lakh each to Telegana and Andhra Pradesh’s relief funds.

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many lives . In these difficult times with humility I would like to donate One Crore twenty five lakhs to the People of Andhra Pradesh , Telangana & Kerala .
