New Delhi: Skoda Auto has officially revealed the India bound Vision IN concept compact SUV at the first Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) Night event held in New Delhi. Prior to this high-profile event, the Czech brand of VAG had been busy building up awareness and curiosity for the Hyundai Creta/Kia Seltos rival through a series of teaser images of the SUV.
The production-ready concept will be built on the brand’s all-new MQB A0 IN platform. This architecture has been specially developed for India and some the brand’s emerging markets.

From the styling perspective, the concept sports bold and aggressive sheetmetal that’s typical of Skoda design and Euro-spec Kamiq. The car is 4,256mm in length on a wheelbase of 2,671mm. Familiar elements include signature Skoda grille with chrome surrounds and projector headlamps. The bumper houses large air-intakes and a silver skid plate. At the rear, modern design elements include L-shaped LED taillamps and skid plates on the rear bumper. Black plastic cladding, roof rails and an upright stance have been incorporated to give it that authentic SUV feel.
The cabin has been tweaked to factor in both style and functionality. A multi-layered dashboard, a large infotainment screen and virtual cockpit comes with fully digital instrumentation. Comfort features include automatic climate control and panoramic sunroof.
The production version of the Vision IN is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 150hp and 250Nm of peak torque mated to a 7-speed DSG. Performance of 0-100km/h is expected to be under 9 seconds.
