BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Sonu Nigam, who is inarguably one of the most loved singers in India, has promised a treat for his fans around the world. He will perform an online concert from 8 pm on Sunday which will be streamed live on all his social media platforms.
The coronavirus crisis has forced him to stay back in Dubai along with his family. Though he wishes to come to the country but he does not wish to risk exposure to Dubai and Mumbai airports.
“I was in the Himalayas till 5 March, and then my Mumbai concert got pushed, so I decided to join my family in Dubai till 17 March. However, now I will have to wait till the situation becomes somewhat normal,” he told Mid Day.
He further added, “At this point of time, I would have loved to be with my father and sister, but that could be dangerous to them because of my exposure to Dubai and Mumbai airports.”
The decision to perform the online concert is a sort of reward for the people who will follow PM Narendra Modi’s advice of staying indoors from 7 am – 9 pm on Sunday as part of self-imposed ‘Janta Curfew’.
“The entire country has decided to adhere to PM Narendra Modi’s appeal and observe a Janta Curfew on 22 March. I will be performing for them at 8 pm India time to cheer my fans up. The concert will not just be for Indians but all the people worldwide who follow Indian music and they can live stream from my social media platforms,” Sonu told the publication.
