BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Days after the fall of Congress-led Kamal Nath’s government, BJP’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday was sworn in as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, This is 61-year-old Chouhan’s fourth term as the chief minister. He is the 19th chief minister of the state.

Nath, who came to power in December 2018, resigned on Thursday just before the Supreme Court had set a deadline to prove his majority in a trust vote.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Chouhan on becoming the CM. “Congratulations to Shri @ChouhanShivraj Ji on taking oath as CM of Madhya Pradesh. He is an able and experienced administrator who is extremely passionate about MP’s development. Best wishes to him for taking the state to new heights of progress,”

Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was with the Congress for 18 years, left Sonia Gandhi’s party and joined the saffron brigade. With him, 22 loyal leaders also resigned. Now, it goes without saying that he was instrumental in the fall of the Kamal Nath government. So, soon after Choudhan took the oath of the chief minister, he thanked Scindia and the 22 former MLAs who have resigned from the membership and joined BJP on social media. In Hindi he tweeted that Chouhan would never break their confidence.

And Scindia, too, congratulated the new CM of Madhya Pradhya on social media. Scindia said that for the development of the state, he will always be with Chouhan. He also posted a photograph of the two.

@ChouhanShivraj pic.twitter.com/xWFfaRIjaT
