The closure of movie theatres will affect movies that are currently running. The makers of Angrezi Medium plan to re-release the film in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala where cinema halls have been shut. Now that Maharashtra has also issued an advisory to shut halls across the state, the film will be badly hit.
“We had no option as the film had already opened in the UAE-GCC market on Thursday, when the Chief Minister of Delhi (Arvind Kejriwal) announced shutdown of theatres later in the day. Had we known three-four days ago that this would happen, we might have had time to rethink the release, but on Thursday it was too late to pull out,” producer Dinesh Vijan told Mumbai Mirror.
Hindi films are only running in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Jharkhand and West Bengal only, according to KRKBOXOFFICE.
Salman Khan’s upcoming tour in USA and Canada titled ‘Up, Close & Personal with Salman Khan’ has been cancelled over coronavirus fears, according to Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh. As we all battle this virus. I think it is time we realise that the human race has been extremely selfish. It’s time we introspect. We share this planet with many other species. Development is important but not at the cost of killing other species. We will overcome this but we must realise that messing with Mother Nature comes at a cost. Art work- @jstnptrs
