BH CORRESPONDENT, Chennai: Indian actor Kamal Haasan was in a bit of a pickle over a sticker that was stuck outside his house which suggested that he was under self-quarantine in the confines of his house so that he and the rest of Chennai was safe.
The sticker read: “We are in home quarantine to safeguard ourselves and Chennai from coronavirus” was pasted by the Chennai Corporation was removed soon but not after after it set off major speculations that the star was quarantined. It also led to rumours that it could be on account of his daughter Shruti Haasan returning from abroad though she is in Mumbai.
However, Kamal clarified that he wasn’t quarantined through a statement that he issued to calm fears and dispel rumours. The statement read, “Based on the notice stuck outside my house, news has been spread saying that I have been quarantined. But, most of you already know that I have not been living there for the past few years and the Makkal Needhi Maiam party office has been functioning from there.”
The actor-turned-politician also said that the news that he is quarantined is fake and that news outlets should verify before jumping the gun. He, however, was practising social distancing and self-isolation to stay safe.
