BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Jackky Bhagnani and Juno Chopra have joined hands to remake a classic film from 1980, The Burning Train, starring Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Jeetendra, Neetu Singh, Vinod Mehra and Danny.
Jackky’s Pooja Entertainment is remaking Coolie No. 1, starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in the characters of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, while Juno’s BR Films latest release was the new age version of the romcom Pati Patni Aur Woh, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the news on Twitter. He posted, “BIGGG NEWS… #JackkyBhagnani and #JunoChopra join hands to remake Ravi Chopra’s 1980 multi-starrer #TheBurningTrain… The director as well as the lead cast will be announced shortly… Will go on floors later this year.”
In another post, he pointed out the films that the makers have already made. He tweeted, “After #Ittefaq and #PatiPatniAurWoh, #TheBurningTrain will be the third remake by the #Chopras… The #Bhagnanis have just released #JawaaniJaaneman, while #CoolieNo1 [#VarunDhawan, #SaraAliKhan] and #BellBottom [#AkshayKumar] are in the pipeline.”
