BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Director Soukarya Ghosal had been waiting for long. His second Bengali film, Rainbow Jelly released in 2018 and it was quite natural for this young filmmaker to get restless and screen his third film for the audience. He cannot wait for the audience to watch Rawkto Rawhoshyo, an emotional thriller where Koel Mallick plays Swarnaja —radio jockey, who receives a strange phone on her live show. She also plays a mother in the film, which makes it more interesting when in real life the actress is pregnant. Congratulations to her. Soukarya was on cloud nine when the release date of his film was announced i.e. April 10. It was also the birthday month of Koel.
But then, the world wasn’t prepared for coronavirus. Hospitals are overflowing with patients, morgues are almost full, roads empty, skies are smog-free, fear has gripped the households, economy is crashing and countries under lockdown. The pandemic struck us and left us devastated. At present, lives need to be saved. The film can release later on and that’s what the makers have decided. So, the release of Rawkto Rawhoshyo has been postponed till further notice. The producers of the film announced the same on the Twitter handle recently.
