ANINDITA ACHARYA, Kolkata: Actress Priyanka Sarkar has returned to her childhood, thanks to her six-year-old son Sohoj. Any parent would admit how difficult it can be to keep a kid inside the four walls given the country is under COVID-19 lockdown. Initially, Priyanka had to face a lot of problems to simply make her toddler understand why he cannot out to play in the park outside their house? Or why cannot he ride his bicycle outside?
Now, he seems settled. He is happy in the world of Charlie Chaplin, Pinocchio, Matilda and The Secret Seven. Yes, Priyanka has gone back to her childhood again. Her son is watching children films and reading The Secret Seven series. And so is his mommy dearest.
“Initially when the lockdown just started, he used to bombard me with questions. So, I made him sit down and made him listen to the Prime Minister’s speech. There I told him that he has told us not to go outside home. Now, he asks me a lot of questions throughout the day,” said the Bornoporichoy actress.
Priyanka says Sohoj is on a detective trip as he is reading Enid Blyton’s The Secret Seven series. “He is voraciously reading the books,” laughs the doting mom. Meanwhile, in The Heritage School, online classes have started and Sohoj is in class 1, so he is regularly attending the online classes from home. And the Crisscross actress has to oversea his homework too. “So, he has a lot of work during the quarantine period,” laughs the mother.
However, talking about work, Priyanka gets anxious and says the lockdown is affecting the Bengali film and television industry especially the daily wage earners. Her film with Yash Dasgupta also got stuck due to coronavirus. She was supposed to go abroad for the shooting of the film in January, but now all plans stand shuffled.
