BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Bollywood actor Asif Basra, who has worked in Paatal Lok, Kai Po Che!, Hichki, Parzania and Black Friday, was found dead at a private guest house in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala on Friday, ANI reported. He was 53.
The forensic team has arrived the spot, the police said. They are investigating into the matter and it is not yet confirmed if the actor died by suicide.
Basra was recently seen in Amazon Prime Video’ hit thriller series Paatal Lok. Bollywood celebrities expressed shocked at the sudden death of the actor. Director Hansal Mehta tweeted that it ‘can’t be true’.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta was left shocked too. She posted is there any more shocking news left in this year. In 2020, Indian film industry lost Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Wajid Khan, Basu Chatterjee, SP Balasubrahmanyam, Nishikant Kamat, Jagdeep, Saroj Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput to name a few.

Dil Bechara filmmaker and Bollywood’s famous casting director Mukesh Chhabra wrote, “This can’t be true Asif Bhai, we have done so much work together from Kai Po Che to Hostages 2.” In June, Bollywood was in for a rude shock when Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai apartment. The case became an international news, with Narcotics Control Bureau questioning actors like Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan for their alleged link in drug.
