BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: World No 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena tested positive for COVID-19. He is the fourth tennis player after Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki who has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Serb tennis star confirmed the news through a statement where he said that he is not showing any symptoms. He also said that all his family members with whom he has staying in Belgrade and Zadar have undergone the testing. However, his children have tested negative.
“The moment we arrived in Belgrade we went to be tested. My result is positive, just as Jelena’s, while the results of our children are negative,” the 17-time Grand Slam winner said in a statement.
Djokovic was criticised for the Adria Tour, a series of exhibition events that started in the Serbian capital and then moved to Zadar. He said that he would remain in 14-day isolation.
