BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Monday tweeted a video of ‘heart-rending treatment’ being meted out to migrants returning to Bihar from various states in the wake of the 21-day nationwide lockdown, demanding chief minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation over it.
“Another frightening picture of the government’s efforts to save people from the COVID-19 infection. This is the heart-rending social distancing and quarantine arrangement made by the Nitish Kumar government for the poor people returning to Bihar from all across the country, that too after facing numerous difficulties,” Prashant tweeted.
“#Nitishmustquit,” he used the hashtag.

In the video attached with the tweet, migrant workers are seen behind bars, weeping, saying that they don’t want anything and requesting to be let go. The video is said to be from Siwan, 130 kilometres from Patna.
Ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown on March 24, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, migrants from all across the country are returning to their native places-in many cases, from one state to another, as they were forced leave. In the absence of any public transport, which has been closed as a part of the lockdown, they are forced to return home on foot.
