BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: First shown to public at the 2020 Auto Expo in Greater Noida followed by launch on February 24, Maruti Suzuki has priced the facelifted Vitara Brezza compact SUV from Rs 7.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
Retaining its characteristic profile, the carmaker has given it soft cosmetic changes and added new features including a petrol engine for the line-up. Changes include a revised front grille, new headlights with integrated signals and LED DRLs. Front bumper also sports a redesign and the rear profile also gets a new bumper and LED tail lights.
With BS VI coming up, Maruti has discontinued the Fiat sourced 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. Maruti has shoehorned a BS VI 1.5-litre petrol engine which is currently used in models like the Ciaz and Ertiga.
As of now Maruti doesn’t have a BS VI compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine but observers believe that the carmaker will introduce one when ready.
The 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Vitara Brezza produces 103hp and 138 Nm of torque when paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed torque converter automatic.
Fuel consumption figures have also been released officially. The manual transmission variant returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.03 km/l while the automatic with mild-hybrid tech returns 18.76 km/l.
The interior of the car is remains mostly untouched but it comes with new upholstery design and connectivity features like Smartplay Studio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Colour palette has been increased and three new dual tone colour options – Sizzling Red with midnight Black roof, Torque Blue with midnight Black roof and Granite Grey with Autumn Orange roof have been added.
