BH Correspondent, Kolkata: MINI has announced limited production model of the Clubman Indian Summer Edition for India. In all, 15 units will be sold pan-India with a price tag of Rs 44.90 lakhs, ex-showroom.
MINI has roped in Amazon.com for the online bookings that begin from tomorrow (15th February).
Built on BMW Group’s UKL2 platform, the special edition gets specially prepared paint shade called new Indian Summer and is contrasted with high gloss piano black exterior finish embellishments that are evident around the redesigned LED headlamps, foglamps, mirror caps, rear lamps and grille insert.
At the rear, there are LED taillights with the brand’s distinctive Union Jack design.
The car is powered by a forced-fed 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor that develops 190 PS and 280 Nm of peak torque when mated with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. On the performance level, 0-100 km/h comes up in 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 228 km/h.
For enthusiastic drivers, there’s individualised vehicle set-up available focusing on either ride comfort, sportiness or efficiency, according to driver’s preference. In addition to the standard MID mode there is a choice of SPORT and GREEN mode. The model also gets cruise control and a reverse camera.
The interior packaging is typical of a modern MINI and includes a 6.5-inch infotainment system surrounded by LED ring, panoramic glass roof, high gloss piano-black highlights with a new black chequered design, ambient lighting, projection lamps, memory function and electrically-adjustable seats for the driver and front passenger, multi-function steering wheel and seat upholstery finished in carbon black.
Active and passive safety kit is comprehensive with airbags, Brake Assist, three-point seatbelts, Dynamic Stability Control, ABS, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat Indicator.
