AGENCIES, Tehran: Iran, one of the world’s worst impacted coronavirus countries after China said on Saturday that COVID19 has claimed 97 more lives in the country. With this, the number of confirmed deaths stands at 611 and total number touches 12,729.
Health ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said that “1,365 fresh cases have been added to the number of confirmed infections in the past 24 hours”, bringing the total number to 12,729.
Meanwhile, aerial images from Iran that was uploaded by satellite imagery have shown massive mass graves for coronavirus victims. The mass grave is so vast that is can be seen in space.
In addition to this, reports from the Washington Post says that more trenches are being dug to accommodate new victims.
These satellite photos taken are of a site about 80 miles south of Tehran at the Behesht-e Masoumeh complex in Qom. The length of the trenches has a total of 100 yards and have reportedly been expanding as days go by.
Iranian healthcare has been severely hit due to the US sanctions regime. The Iranians have been asking for financial aid from the International Monetary Fund to fund medical supplies that are essential in this Coronavirus outbreak. Including, masks, and testing kits.
