AGENCIES, Paris: The deadly coronavirus’ next victim is Madonna. Or rather two shows of her tour Madame X. She was supposed to play two concerts in Le Grand Rex in Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday, but both dates have been cancelled, as per her official website. Live Nation, who were organising and promoting the concerts, released a statement confirming it.
France has come up with a plan to restrict the spread of the virus by banning gatherings of more than 1,000 people. Le Grand Rex has a capacity of 2,800 and is the largest cinema theatre in Europe, according to Daily Mail. They also report that Madonna had also been forced to recently pull out of Madame X shows after injuring her knee. On top of that, she had a really bad fall on the stage after a chair was pulled out from under her by mistake. Though she continued the performance, this fall aggravated her injury.
Coronavirus has infected over 1,00,000 people worldwide and left a few thousand dead. Numerous shooting schedules and trips are being cancelled. Rumours are afloat that the Cannes International Film Festival can also be cancelled for the same. In India, IIFA has been cancelled.
