AGENCIES, Lucknow: Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor, who had tested positive for coronavirus after returning from abroad, has tested positive for the second time. The test was conducted again after her family questioned the accuracy of the previous test.
Kanika had sent quite a few people into fits of panic after attending three parties after returning to India and coming into contact with over a hundred people including influential politicians like Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, BJP MP Dushyant Singh and Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh.
The second sample was tested again at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, where she is being kept in isolation, according to ANI. She is reported to be stable as of now.
Kanika is reportedly unhappy with the conditions under which she has been kept, complaining of dust and mosquitoes. Dr RK Dhiman, Director of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), however, refutes her claims, saying that the best of facilities are being provided to her.
“The hospital staff at her disposal is for a four-hour shift during which they cannot eat or drink because they wear anti-infection equipment. Every four hours one team is “donned off” their gear and another shift takes over. The room is cleaned every four hours. Kanika Kapoor’s claims are all baseless,” he told Ahmedabad Mirror.
