BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: We will soon see Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor in the biopic of Gunjan Saxena, India’s first woman Air Force female combat pilot, who actively took part in the Kargil War in 1999. And now, our very own Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing an Indian Air Force pilot in a film, titled Tejas. Her team shared the first look on Monday on social media and we quite like it.
“For all the brave hearted and strong headed women in Uniform who make sacrifices for our nation day in and day out. Kangana to play an airforce pilot in her next , titled – TEJAS. #KanganaRanaut @RonnieScrewvala #SarveshMewara @nonabains @rsvpmovies #Tejas,” the actress’ team posted.
Speaking about the project to Mumbai Mirror Kangana, who will next be seen in Jayalalithaa’s biopic Thalaivi said, “Very often, the sacrifices made by our brave women in uniform go unnoticed by the nation. Tejas is a film where I have the honour of playing the role of one such Air Force pilot who puts country before self.”
Tejas will hit the floors this summer and release in April 2021. Written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, the film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP films.
Meanwhile, Kangana’s recent film Panga on kabaddi didn’t set the cast registers ringing.
On the other hand, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel has once again found herself in the middle of a controversy. This time, she has trolled Bollywood celebrities Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and Ananya Panday for their Filmfare awards. Alia won the Best Actress award for her performance in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. In fact, Gully Boy picked up 13 awards on Saturday night at Filmfare. However, according to Rangoli, Alia got the award for her “mediocre performance”. “Alia got award for her mediocre performance last year, she has a long way to go but still she was in the lead role, how do you get lead role award in a supporting role is beyond me,” Rangoli slammed Alia on Twitter.
