AGENCIES, Massachusetts: Actor Lee Fierro, who portrayed the character of Mrs. Kinter in Steven Spielberg’s shark-saga films Jaws and Jaws: The Revenge passed away after being infected by coronavirus. She was 91.
The actor had moved from her home in Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts to Ohio, where she was looked after at an assisted-living facility. She worked as a director and mentor at the Island Theatre Workshop for 25 years.
Kevin Ryan, the organisation’s artistic director and board president confirmed the news to Entertainment Tonight. “The one word I would think of when I think of Lee is dedication. I’ve watched her as a performer, director and businesswoman, and then we became friends. She was my teacher and mentor. I would still call Lee for artistic discussion and commentary. She was fiercely dedicated to the mission of teaching. She, no matter what it was, would stay at it and get the job done,” he said.
MJ Munafo, artistic director at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, said, “I loved her and she was an inspiration to me. She was a huge presence on the Island theater community. She worked with hundreds of young people who just adored her.”
