BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: As India prepares exit strategy with states to help minimise the risks following the lifting of lockdown on May 3, the Union health ministry’s website showed the coronavirus cases climbing upto 31,787 in the country. 1,008 people have lost their lives to the disease. Meanwhile, 7,797 people have been cured or discharged so far. The doubling rate of cases in India is currently 10.2 days.
Maharashtra recorded 9,318 cases. However, 1,388 people have also cured from the disease in the state. Meanwhile, the number COVID-19 deaths rose to 400 today in the state.
Delhi has 3,314 coronavirus infections, and 54 deaths. Tamil Nadu has 2,058 cases. The southern state has reported 25 COVID-19 deaths.
Telangana has 1,004 cases, Uttar Pradesh continues to register a higher number of positive cases and now the number stands at 2,054 with 34 deaths and 462 cured.
The central health ministry data says West Bengal has reported 725 cases with 22 deaths.
