BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Hyundai Motors has added some fizz to the compact hatch segment with its European-flavoured i10 models. The car maker had first unveiled the turbocharged version of the hatchback at Auto Expo 2020 and it was just a matter of time for the production model hitting Indian roads.
The Grand i10 1.0L Turbo GDi will be offered in two trims – Sportz and Sportz (Dual Tone) and has been keenly priced at Rs 7.68 lakh and Rs. 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Hyundai says the price is same across the country.
Apart from the ‘Turbo’ badge on the front grille, the car remains unchanged visually. Hyundai has confirmed that it will be offering Grand i10 in dual-tone colour combinations wherein customers can choose Fiery Red with Black Roof or Polar White with Black Roof along with single tone colour options – Aqua Teal & Polar White.
The 998 cc three-cylinder turbocharged motor produces 99 bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of almost 172 Nm in the 1,500-4,000 rpm range when mated to 5-speed manual gearbox that is offered as standard.
Tarun Garg, Director – Sales, Marketing & Service, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “The Grand i10 Nios is developed for Young Urban Progressive buyers.
