BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: After five years of separation, actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey have finally filed for divorce. Their married life lasted for ten years. The two had fallen in love while working together on films like Traffic Signal, Mixed Doubles and Aaja Nachle and tied the knot in 2010 after dating for a couple of years.
According to reports, the legal separation will happen within six months and all the divorce formalities are completed. Even though the couple underwent counselling, unfortunately it didn’t work out and they parted ways peacefully.
Such a mature approach is beneficial for their 8-year-old son Haroon, who was born within a year of their marriage. The couple will share joint custody of him.
Four years back, Konkona had announced their separation on Twitter though both of them haven’t made any statement about the divorce from their personal accounts.
Ranvir and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you.

Such an amicable separation is a rare sight in Bollywood, where breakups and divorces often take a bitter turn. Their relationship is so smooth that Konkona even worked with Ranvir in her directorial debut A Death in the Gunj after their split.
Both the actors have condemned the violence in Delhi while the top Bollywood actors have remained quiet.
