BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: The West Bengal government has postponed the Higher Secondary Examinations that was scheduled to be held on March 23, March 25 and March 27 following the coronavirus outbreak in the country. All these exams will now be rescheduled after April 15.
Earlier, some central boards had also postponed examinations that was scheduled for March.
In another significant decision, the government has suspended all inter-state bus services to prevent cross-border spread of the disease.
The state government on Saturday also announced shutdown of all bars, restaurants, parlours, hukka-bars and night clubs where people gather in a large numbers to fight the spead of COVID-19 virus.
The state government has called an all-party meet in Nabanna on Monday. The government is keen to hear out all the parties before putting more restrictions in place.
Bengal now has three coronavirus positive cases. All the three persons had returned from trips abroad.
