Malaika posted a very inspiring message for women

BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Usually social media handles of female celebrities are flooded with generic ‘Happy Women’s Day’ messages on March 8, but some really take your breath away.

Malaika Arora said something that is truly wisdom. It can be applied beyond just women and is more a humanitarian message of positivity. “The happiest women are the ones who made a choice to love themselves wholly and truly. Women who chose to leave the past behind, worked on their self-esteem and put a high price tag on their self-esteem,” she wrote in the beautiful post she put up along with a smiling picture. “They realized that happiness is a personal choice and responsibility. They chose to be defined by their present, but not their pasts. They are happy because they don’t need validation from anyone.”

The happiest women today are not the married ones. They’re not the single ones. They’re not the ones with stable careers and good incomes. The happiest women are the ones who made a choice to love themselves wholly and truly. Women who chose to leave the past behind, worked on their self-esteem and put a high price tag on their self-esteem. They stopped playing victims. They stopped whining in self-pity and dining in pity parties. They moved past their anger, tears and bitterness. They realized that happiness is a personal choice and responsibility. They chose to be defined by their present, but not their pasts. They are happy because they don’t need validation from anyone. They are happy because they know that they don’t need to throw shade on anyone for them to shine. They are happy because they chose to be Queens …. Happy Women’s day today n everyday ♥️… such beautiful words

Kajol meanwhile put forth her gratitude to the women who raised her and taught her lessons in feminism.

To all the women who form my core women’s club! And have raised me in all different ways and taught me different definitions of feminism! Let this day be an acceptance of that. 🙏 #womensclub #itsallus #gratitude

Kalki Koechlin, meanwhile, put up a quirky message up along with a photograph of her holding her baby. She wrote, “May you look at yourself through the eyes of experience and celebration and not the objectification of the male gaze, may you learn the difference between well intentioned patriarchal advice and true feminist criticism.”

Dear women, May you get to do exactly what you want and not what is expected of you or what you’re supposed to do. May you give yourself time, love and rest. May you always remember to prioritize yourself in a world which might put you to one side, to pat yourself on the back for the ‘invisible’ work that you do, and to vocalise the troubles that you overcome . May you never refrain from laughing too loud, or expressing too aggressively or dressing too provocatively. May you look at yourself through the eyes of experience and celebration and not the objectification of the male gaze, may you learn the difference between well intentioned patriarchal advice and true feminist criticism. May you unhook your bra strap, get into your comfiest pyjamas and chill the fuck out. Love from a happy, exhausted feminist mama bear. #happywomensday #womenmatter (By the way don’t worry, the baby is safe. The daddy who took the picture is keeping an eye on us #menmatter) 😘

Manisha Koirala put up a strong post reminiscing about the time she portrayed a strong, independent female character in the film Akele Hum, Akele Tum, which broke gender norms.

“In the film industry, as a woman, it is always a challenge to perform the role and take it to a pre eminent position, as more often than not, most of the films are usually written from a male character’s perspective .So, you are always aware of your gender. I’ve done almost 90 films until now and one of favorite roles is the one I played in ‘Akele Hum, Akele Tum’. My character breaks the gender norms of those days by showcasing a strong, independent woman who does not give up on her personal ambitions despite being married and having kids, and that’s such an important message to put out there, especially for its time”. #womensday #womensdayeveryday @netflix_in Wearing @raw_mango Style- @surinakakkar Hair&makeup- @rashmishastri
