BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: The decision to open liquor shops across the country has had mixed reactions from citizens. While a lot of the thirsty folk have rushed out in hordes to get a bottle as if their life depended on it, others have come down against the decision quite harshly.
Among them is actor Malaika Arora, who took to social media to express her displeasure and horror at the decision. She reflected that if some people are allowed to drink alcohol, it could lead to a spike in cases of domestic violence directed against women and children and a definite increase in general chaos.
Taking to her Instagram story, Malaika uploaded a picture of her television screen which shows ‘Liquor shops closed after crowds’. Along with it, she wrote, “I still don’t get what was the need or desperation or necessity to open liquor shops!! Bad bad idea. Only gonna create more chaos, domestic abuse, child abuse.”
She clearly has a strong point there and probably her opinion should be paid heed to.
On the other hand, she also shared a picture of herself with her parents and sister Amrita Arora. A nostalgic picture, she captioned it, “50 days n counting …. miss u guys”.
