BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: A girl from Habra tested positive for coronavirus infection on Friday night at the Beliaghata ID Hospital. With this fresh case, the number of people infected in West Bengal rose to three.
The girl’s confirmatory report was sent to the infectious disease hospital in Beliaghata by the Pune-based NICED lab on Friday night. The 21-year-old student from Habra in North 24 Parganas was admitted to the hospital on March 18 after she had developed flu-like symptom soon after she returned from Scotland.
Earlier, two youths from South Kolkata tested coronavirus positive at NICED. They have been admitted to the Beliaghata ID Hospital.
In another case, an elderly person who returned from Agra is believed to have tested coronavirus positive at the SSKM hospital on Friday. His swab sample has been sent to NICED for confirmation.
Meanwhile, a cleaning staff of the Beliaghata ID Hospital who was on duty at the isolation ward where two coronavirus patients have been admitted developed flu- like complications on Friday evening. He, too, has been admitted to the hospital for screening.
On Friday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop all international flights to the state.
