BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Nissan India on Wednesday said it plans to introduce a new variant of SUV Kicks soon. The key highlight of this variant will be a turbocharged engine mated to X-tronic CVT (automatic transmission).
“The new Nissan Kicks is powered by best-in-class turbo engine and best-in-class X-tronic CVT offering higher fuel economy and acceleration,” Nissan Motor India Managing Director Rakesh Srivastava said.
The front wheel drive subcompact hatchback and crossover inspired car will get a forced-fed four-cylinder petrol engine will displace 1.3-litres and will belt out 156 PS of power and 254Nm of torque through its simulated 8-step manual mode in the CVT. The powertrain also uses the cylinder coating technology, which is borrowed from Nissan GT-R’s engine, Nissan said. The new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine has been co-developed by Daimler and Nissan-Renault Alliance and has already found its place in the Renault Duster.
This technology boosts efficiency of the engine and offers higher fuel efficiency and performance, it added.
High-end features expected in the car when it hits the market include automatic AC, cruise control, 360 degree camera, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, hill descent control and traction control.
