BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Money trumps all. Even while the deadly coronavirus is spreading its poison across the world as well India, some Bollywood producers have rushed to cash in on the panic. They have registered movie titles related to COVID-19.
Eros International has registered a film title based on Hrithik Roshan-Amisha Patel starrer Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, rechristening it as Corona Pyaar Hai, reports Times of India. The report stated, “Currently the scripting is going on. The subject (of the epidemic) is going to be set in a love story. Currently, we are fine tuning the script and are waiting for things to subside, as things have come to a standstill now. Once everything is normal, we will start the project in full swing,” as said by producer Krishika Lulla.
Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association also confirmed to the publication that they have registered a film title called Deadly Corona.
What does this say about the standards that the film industry and especially its greedy producers set for themselves? While the world suffers and thousands die, these people set their sights instead on milking a tragedy for all it’s worth.
Some netizens, however, seem to be enjoying the situation. A Twitter user posted edited posters of Bollywood films where actors are seen wearing masks.
