BH CORRESPONDENT, Basel: Now, this news won’t go down well with the tennis enthusiast. Imagine a French Open without Roger Federer? Yes, that hurts. And badly. The 20-time Grand Slam champion took his Twitter to announce that a minor surgery on his right knee will keep me away from French Open. And we are not sure if he will play at the Wimbledon or not? Hope he does.
“My right knee has been bothering me for a little while,” he said. “I hoped it would go away but, after an examination, and discussion with my team, I decided to have arthroscopic surgery in Switzerland yesterday. After the procedure, the doctors confirmed that it was the right thing to have done and are very confident of a full recovery. As a result, I will unfortunately have to miss Dubai, Indian Wells, Bogota, Miami and the French Open, ” he tweeted.

From the time Federer tweeted, his fans went crazy and the tweet got more than 10,000 likes in half an hour. Fans still can’t believe that he would miss four lead-up tournaments and the French Open with no assurance of playing at Wimbledon.
