AGENCIES, Mumbai: Pop music star Lady Gaga’s and organisation Global Citizen have raised $35 million to fight the global coronavirus pandemic. She has also announced an event, called One World: Together at Home, featuring Paul McCartney, Lizzo, Billie Eilish in order to support healthcare professionals who are working in the frontline to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The event, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert, will be shown on multiple television and digital networks around the world on April 18. The event will feature performances by Chris Martin, Elton John, John Legend, David Beckham and Stevie Wonder. Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Elba, who had tested positive for COVID-19, are also supposed to take part in the show.
Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are also supposed to be part of the live virtual event to raise fund for global pandemic. The special event will also stream live on YouTube, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more platforms. The money will benefit WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
