The East-West metro rail enters the tunnel after Salt Lake Stadium. The entire route between Phoolbagan to Howrah Maidan will be under ground. The Kolkata Metro Railway Corporation said that they have written to the Commission of Railway safety to inspect the route between Salt Lake stadium and Phoolbagan so that the stretch could be open for the commuters soon.
The KMRC said that the building up the Phoolbagan station is on full swing and most of the works inside the underground station are almost over. On February 13, railway minister Piyush Goyel inaugurated the East-West Metro services from Salt lake Sector Five to salt Lake Stadium.
If the Commission of Railway Safety gives the clearance to run metro up to Phoolbagan then the KMRC would likely to announce the date of service of the East-West Metro service up to Phoolbagan.
