BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Four days back, Bengali superstar Dev had posted a photograph on his Instagram account where we see his feet dipped in an ice bucket. In that photograph, he had mentioned that it was the after-effects of the first schedule of the shooting of Dhrubo Banerjee’s Golondaaz. Well, of course, by now we know that Dev plays the character of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the Father of Indian Football, who went onto set up many football clubs in Kolkata in the film. But then, there’s another reason why the superstar had to dip his feet into the ice bucket.

Of course, Dev had to play football during the shooting to get into the skin of the character. But then, Dev has also sustained a hairline fracture on his left toe while shooting for the football film. The actor had been shooting for the Bengali sports drama in Maidan area and had just completed the first schedule of the film. It was during the shooting when the actor suffered injury. “I had a hairline fracture on my left toe. I have been advised to take rest for a while. But I cannot do so,” said the producer of Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri.
In fact, the actor has started undergoing training in wrestling for the film before the second leg of Golondaaz shooting begins. And the next schedule will also be shot in and around Kolkata. “I could not have taken the risk of sitting down at home and rested. I had to start my wrestling training. So, I had to take care of my toe in some other ways,” said Dev, who will next be seen in Tonic and Kishmish.
