BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: After the Sooryavanshi trailer dropped on Monday, director Rohit Shetty has asked the people to stay calm in the wake of communal tension in Delhi, urging fans not to spread panic and rumours without adequate knowledge of ground realities.
“What is happening in Delhi or the country is a serious issue. There is a whole bunch of people talking about it. I think at this moment the best thing would be to keep calm. Our officials and the government and the people are working on it in Delhi,” Shetty was quoted by PTI at the trailer launch of his new cop film Sooryavanshi in Mumbai.
“We’re here in Mumbai at a trailer launch having a good time, and to talk about those suffering in Delhi would be the easiest thing to do. Right now, the best thing is to keep quiet and calm. Everyone is talking and that is only increasing chaos. Keep calm, people are working out the situation. We shouldn’t indulge in such talks right now,” he added.
On the other hand, while several Bollywood actors condemned the Delhi riots, Golmaal series actor Tusshar Kapoor blamed the international media of spreading one-sided reporting on Delhi violence.
“Appalling to see so much fake one sided news about my country in the international media! Now one wonders whether stuff said about truly authoritarian regimes like North Korea was ever true! #indiaisunited #delhiriots #peace,” he said.
Now, his post got mixed reviews. Some user commented that he would be awarded Padma Bhushan now that he has spoken in favour of the Modi government.
Sir aap Padma Bhushan lenge ya National Award?
