BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Deepika Padukone, whose recent film Chhapaak was an eyebrow-raiser amidst the romance and action films, has cancelled her trip to Paris over the coronavirus scare that has gripped France.
She was invited by luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton to attend its show at the Paris Fashion Week, which has been taking place since February 24 till today. She was picked as the face of the fashion house’s new collection in January. Through this, she made history as she is the first Bollywood actress to have been made the face of Louis Vuitton.
But the coronavirus outbreak, which reared its ugly head in Wuhan, China, has claimed over 3,000 lives worldwide with the number of infected people around 89,000 according to World Health Organization (WHO).
“Deepika Padukone was scheduled to travel to France to attend Louis Vuitton’s FW2020 show at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week but had to cancel her trip with news coming in that the coronavirus epidemic has now entered a new stage in France,” said an official spokesperson of the actress.
Deepika’s upcoming venture is 83 where she is playing the wife of India’s 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev, played by her real-life husband Ranveer Singh.
