BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Members of Parliaments and central ministers would be taking a 30 per cent salary cut for one year to enable the country to tide over the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that President Ram Nath Kovind, vice-president Venkaiah Naidu and all Governors of the state have also voluntarily decided to take a pay cut. The Cabinet also approved the move to temporarily suspend MPLADS fund of MPs for two years.

The money, saved through these efforts, will go to the Consolidated Fund of India. The money will be used for managing health services and overcoming the adverse impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the economy, Javadekar said.
