BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: On Saturday, 13 junior doctors of Beliaghata ID Hospital, one of the main COVID-19 hospitals in Kolkata, were advised quarantine after they were found to have developed symptoms of the virus. According to a senior staff of the hospital, the authorities have begun the process of contact tracing on Saturday.
The trainee doctors were engaged in treating coronavirus patients. According to an officer of the state health ministry, all the 13 trainee doctors have been sent to quarantine and their samples have been sent to the government laboratory for testing. Their test report will arrive on Monday.
It has come to light that 8 interns from NRS Medical College and Hospital and five interns from Sagar Dutta Medical College had joined duty at Beliaghata ID Hospital on Thursday. However, just within 24 hours, it was noticed that all of them had developed symptoms of coronavirus were immediately sent to quarantine on Saturday.
According to the officer of the health department, swab samples have been collected from all of them. The state health department have not announced anything on this officially yet.
