BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: In a first such decision in Kolkata, South Point School, one of the most reputable institutions in the city, has asked students not to come to classes in the wake of the coronavirus scare. Delhi, Mumbai, and Kerala have already taken such a move.
South Point Junior and High School authorities have put up a notice stating students are not to come to the school till they are notified. The notice also states that the dates of the results which were supposed to be out next week have also been postponed. That’s not all. The annual ceremony of the school has been cancelled for the time being.
The notice, however, did not state how long the school would remain closed due to COVID-19 scare.
The results of the fourth and fifth grades will be released on March 24. However, the students are not required to come to school to collect them. The authorities will hand over the results to their parents instead. The examination papers from grade sixth to eighth were supposed to be shown between March 16 -18. However, given the coronavirus outbreak, the work has also been put on hold.
