BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Two students appearing for Higher Secondary examination on Thursday arrived at wrong centres. But thanks to the cops from Kashipur and Beleghata, they gave them a ride in their vehicles and dropped them off at the respective test centres before the examination began.
Farhan Akhtar was supposed to sit for the exam at the Raja Manindra School under Chitpur Police Station, but by mistake landed up at Kashipur BT Road Government High School. However, he didn’t have much on hand to return to the correct address.
Farhan was understandably panicky. He went to the principal of Kashipur school and sought help. The principal quickly reported the problem to the cops stationed at the exam centre. The news also reached Kashipur police station. Constable Ashish Pathak was patrolling the area at that time. On receiving the news, he reached the spot on his motorcycle and rushed Farhan to Raja Manindra School. There was still some time left for the exam to start.
In another instance, Beliaghata Police Station additional O-C, Amit Sengupta, spotted a student crying in front of Kamala Vidyamandir School while patrolling the examination centre. Salma Khatun told him she was supposed to reach Deshbandhu Girls Vidyapith under Narkeldanga police station. She didn’t even know the road well and was afraid that she will miss the exam.
Sengupta rushed Salma to her designated exam centre and like Farhan, she too could sit for the exam.
